Some Uptake Quicker than Others
I started the semester with two new year 9 classes, and applied my version of the rule, consequence, fresh start. One group adapted within two weeks, and the other class is still a work in progress, five weeks on. The students’ needs are different and the classroom dynamic is different. It’s a reminder that not all classes are the same and some will uptake the process better than others. Everything takes time, patience and consistency. Obviously, a whole school approach with admin support is the end game.
